Hi,
I am trying to deploy a task sequence fail with the error:
Component: Software Distribution
Message ID: 10018
Message
Advertisement "xxx" from site "xx" was rejected because the client's platform is not supported.
Possible cause: The client received the advertisement but rejected it because the client's
platform was not included in the list of supported platforms specified for the program.
Solution: If the client should actually accept the advertisement,
either disable supported platform checking or modify the list of supported platforms
specified on the Requirements tab of the Program's Properties dialog box.
Changes to the program properties will not be detected until the list of advertised programs is refreshed on the client.
At the moment I have it set to run on "All x64 Vista"
I am tempted to change it to: "This task sequence can run on any platform" to resolve it.
However something is popping into my mind that there is a work around for "something"
where you set the task sequence "The task sequence can run on any platform" to an OS
type that you do not use in your environment. but I can't remember the reason why.
So here are my questions.
1. I assume the best way to solve it is to have it set to "This task sequence can run on any platform"?
2. What is the reason you would ever set it to an OS that you don't use (from my rusty memory)?
Thanks,
Ward.
