Injecting Mass-Storage (SATA) drivers into Boot Image for SCCM OSD

I'm looking for some pointers regarding adding Mass Storage drivers into a Boot Image
We use SCCM 2007, integrated with MDT 2010 for Operating System Deployment. This has been up & running fine for approx one year.
We have recently got some tower units in for our CAD team (Lenovo S30-0568), which need a SATA driver injected (Intel C600 series chipset SATA AHCI Controller); the intended operating system is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
We have a working Win7 pro 64-bit which deploys successfulyl to other models. However, any deployment to the S30 fails immediately when the "format and partition disk" step begins. Using a command prompt and the "diskpart" command shows that there are no hard disks visible when WinPE boots.
We've confirmed the correct SATA driver from going thru the manual CD build, so we now know what driver to use to make the drives visible
These drivers are already imported into our SCCM environemnt. I've added these to our boot-image by selecting the appropriate driver under "Operating System Deployment/Drivers", right-clicking and selecting "add or remove drivers to boot images", as we have done previously with NIC drivers.
However, the Task Sequence still fails on the "Format..." step on the S30s, and "diskpart" is still showing the error "there are no hard disks present".
I found this link detailing adding mass-storage drivers on MDT:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/850c50f6-505c-4a64-bb2e-5aa4f19e0e93/mdt-2010-not-able-to-deploy-windows-xp-to-include-mass-storage-drivers
However, we are using MDT with SCCM OSD.
Do I need to do anything in addition to the "add drivers to boot image" to fully install the selected driver?
Are there any technet pages etc outlining correct methods for adding mass-storage drivers to boot-files using SCCM/OSD?
Can anyone think of any other reasons why the hard-disk on the S30 is not visible to WinPE?
(Note - I don't have any smsts.log file; the file obviously will not be saved as there is no disk for it to be saved to.)

Thanks
Stan
