WDS Issues

Hi All,

I am trying to inject an Intel NIC driver into a boot image and experiencing some problems with the site server restarting every time it tries to mount the image and appears at around 21% of the import process.  This is evident with different drivers into different boot images, so it does appear to be related to a single driver / image.  As a side note, the same Intel NIC drivers have been imported into other boot images previously without issue and are used in various OSD builds successfully.

There is no error specified, the site server just restarts.  The following are the events logged into the Application Log.

  • An error occurred while trying to initialize the Windows Deployment Services image server.

Error Information: 0xC1030104

  • An error occurred while trying to initialize provider WdsImgSrv from C:\Windows\system32\WdsImgSrv.dll. Since this provider is not marked as critical, Windows Deployment Services server will  continue.

This error is also logged in the System Log

  • The previous system shutdown at 11:23:48 on 04/12/2014 was unexpected.

Following the restart, the driver is visible in the properties of the boot image, but it does not distribute successfully as the package source version and date have not changed for the boot image.

Does anybody know a resolve to this issue?  Thanks in advance.
