Just got in some Dell Precision M3800 laptops. I've got OSD working on every other model desktop and laptop we have but someone decided we need 2 harddrives in the M3800s. One is SSD and the other is standard. Unfortunately for me, the awesome people at Dell put the SSD as disk 1. My goal is to get the OS installed on the SSD but it's not working as I'd planned.
If I format both drives in the task sequence as primary partitions, it will assign C: to disk 0 and D: to disk 1. I thought that if I reversed the sequence of those tasks, I could get it to assign C: to disk 1 but it will start with D: and then move on to disk 0 which it gives the C: partition.
The only way I've been able to get C: assigned to the partition on disk 1 is to format disk 0 as an extended partition, but once the sequence gets to the apply OS step, it bombs outwith (0x80070032)
I've tried using the variables and that doesn't work. I've tried pointing to disk 1, partition 1 and that doesn't work either. I can get it to successfully build if I set both partitions as primary and apply the OS to the next available partition, but it loads the OS on the non-SSD drive.
I'm out of ideas to get this to work. Anyone have any ideas?
