Hi - unfortunately we are still on 2007 and don't have the software catalog yet but need to set up a system to replace user apps after their boxes get re-imaged to the newest standard baseline image. I was looking at using the USMT to move over some files and settings and also need to replace apps based on what the user had before. They might have some combination of specialty apps that are not distributed to all users, and we don't want them having to put in tickets to get their apps back.
Does anyone have any way to reasonably automate inventorying and then give them the right task sequence to match the apps they had before? We will be doing blocks of more than 50 at a time. Thanks.
