usmt hardlink when profiles are not on default location

hi,

We currently encounter a problem when we use USMT 4 hardlink migration from Windows 7 to Windows 7.

User's profiles are stored on D drive and system on C.

The error occurs during scanstate step. Scanstate failed because it searchs profiles on the C:\USers. In our case, there are stored on D:\USers.

We found the error detail in the USMTCapture.log:
2011-07-30 01:47:37, Error                 [0x000000] MigStartupOffline caught exception: Win32Exception: C:\Users: The system cannot find the file specified. [0x00000002] class UnBCL::String *__stdcall UnBCL::Path::GetLongName(const class UnBCL::String *)

questions are :

  • does hardlink support migration of profiles that are not on the default location ?
  • If yes how can we resolve this issue ?

By advance, thank you

Régis & seb
