Normally a USB flash drive is the best media for this task as using he CD or DVD option is just a lot of disk juggling, but my environment does not allow flash media. Can I deploy an image from Configuration manager using an SSD via SATA?
SCCM 2007 (soon to be 2012)
Create Win 7 x64 image with task sequence on SATA SSD rather than USB media or CD/DVD.
I saw a previous post from several years ago that went dead. In his case he had created the media for the USB flash and then attempted to copy the image to an SSD. I believe the problem there was that the task sequence would have been created to call the USB device rather than "DISC X". How do I create the media or alter it afterward so that the task sequence will call the SATA SSD I intend to use. Anybody else out there already pulled this trick off some how?
Thanks for your input and time thinking on this weird little challenge.
